Shots Fired in Los Banos Home Invasion, Multiple Wounded

On March 28, 2025, at approximately 2:02 a.m., Los Banos Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2000 block of Edward Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that several armed suspects had forcibly entered a residence, confronting the homeowner.

The homeowner, upon hearing the disturbance, investigated and encountered the armed intruders inside his home. The victim was able to retrieve a legally owned firearm and confronted the suspects. A gunfire exchange ensued when the suspects entered a nearby room. The suspects fired multiple rounds toward the homeowner, who returned fire, striking three of the suspects.

The suspects subsequently fled the scene through a bedroom window and left the area in an unknown vehicle.

Shortly after, two of the suspects were located, arrested, and transported to a Modesto-area hospital for treatment of gunshot-related injuries.

Initially, Officers believed two of the suspects were shot by the victim however, through the investigation Officers learned a third suspect was also shot during this home invasion, the third suspect was transported to a Stockton area hospital where he sought treatment for a gunshot wound to the upper body.

We believe the suspect self-transported to Stockton in an attempt to avoid detection by Law Enforcement. Our relationship with Stockton Police Department resulted in the quick discovery and apprehension of suspect Lopez.

Additional investigation resulted in the location of the fourth suspect, Jeremy Grayson who was located during a joint arrest operation by Los Banos Police Detectives and the Stockton Police Department. Grayson was taken into custody on the evening of April 2nd in the 600 Block of East Hammer Lane in Stockton, after he attempted to run from officers.

Through follow-up investigation, our Detectives were able to recover the vehicle involved in this home invasion, the vehicle was processed for evidence and several key pieces of evidence were recovered inside the suspect vehicle.

To date, four of the five suspects have been arrested for their involvement in this case:

• Marcos Mauricio Lopez (18) of Stockton

• Juan Carlos Beccera jr (19) of Stevinson

• Trevor Dillan Carrillo Smith (18) of Stockton

• Jeremy Dejon Grayson (18) of Stockton

The suspects were booked on charges of Attempted Murder, Assault with a Firearm on Person, Child Endangerment, Conspiracy to Commit Crime and Burglary in the First Degree.

The fifth suspect is not in custody, anyone with information regarding his identity or whereabouts should contact the Los Banos Police Department.

The Los Banos Police Department would like to thank the Stockton Police Department and our partners with the Merced Area Gang and Narcotic Task Force for their continued assistance with this investigation.
